The Perfect Starter…Grilled Bruschetta with a Ciabatta Twist

Picture this: you, your Sahara gas BBQ, and a loaf of ciabatta bread ready to be transformed into mouthwatering bruschetta. But hey, we’re not just making any old bruschetta; we’re kicking it up a notch with some BBQ flair! So grab your spatula and get ready to grill up some goodness with me.

What you need

  • 1 large ciabatta loaf, sliced into 1/2 inch thick slices
  • 5 ripe tomatoes, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

What to do

  1. First things first, fire up that Sahara gas BBQ and let it get nice and toasty. We want those flames dancing.
  2. While the grill heats up, let’s prep our ingredients. Grab a big bowl and toss in the diced tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper. Give it all a good mix and let those flavours mingle like old friends.
  3. Once your grill is hot and ready, it’s time to throw those ciabatta slices on there. Pop them right onto the grates and let toast up for about 2 minutes on each side. We want them nice and crispy.
  4. Once your ciabatta slices are golden brown and grill-marked, take them off the BBQ and put on a serving dish. Now comes the fun part – spoon that flavourful tomato mixture generously onto each slice. Don’t be shy now, we want every bite to be a flavour explosion!
  5. Serve up your BBQ bruschetta masterpiece and watch as your friends and family dig in with gusto. With ciabatta this crispy and toppings this tasty, you’ll only ever do it on the Grill again.

And there you have it, folks – BBQ bruschetta on ciabatta bread, straight from the Sahara gas BBQ to your taste buds. So fire up that grill, unleash your inner BBQ maestro, and let’s get cookin‘!
