Today is the 1st of July and that can only mean ONE thing for the BBQ guys!! It’s International Chicken Wing Day. On this day we celebrate this delicious and multi-flavoured dish. From spicy to sweet, sour, cheesy, salty, and pretty much any flavour in between, we are always here to celebrate! Everyone loves grilled wings on the BBQ. From kids to adults, it’s always a crowd pleaser! This day is all about enjoying ourselves and spending time with our friends and family. So, fire up your Sahara BBQ and get grilling.
Today for International Wings Day, learn how to make Buffalo Sauce with just four everyday ingredients! Homemade buffalo sauce is spicy, tangy, easy to make, and versatile too. You’ll want to make your own buffalo sauce every time!
Let’s not forget the dipping sauce. With dips like honey garlic, BBQ or Jack Daniels, all great choices, my go too will always be blue cheese! I’ve added in a simple Dipping recipe below.
What is it? Ever wonder what buffalo sauce is made of? It generally contains a hot sauce (I prefer Frank’s sauce), Tabasco, Worcestershire sauce, and butter, although there are some variants, this is my go too! It seems silly to talk about the flavour, because you are more than likely all too familiar with the spicy flavour of buffalo sauce. Buffalo sauce is similar to hot sauce, but is enhanced with other flavours, the main one being butter. This makes it richer than traditional hot sauce.
Note: You want to be sure you’re using Frank’s Original Red Hot Sauce, NOT Frank’s Red Hot Wings Sauce. The “wing” sauce already has a butter like ingredient mixed in with it.
Not only great on chicken wings, but Buffalo Sauce is also great mixed into salad dressings, in or on burgers, in sandwiches, on tacos, on Prawns, and a wide range of other food. Once you make Buffalo Sauce from scratch you might not go back to bottled. It’s that easy.
