This homemade burger recipe is a summertime grilling dinner winner. You can easily prep the burger patties in advance if you are feeding a crowd at bbqs & parties this summer, or simply for your mid week dinners. It’s Seriously the best grilled burgers you’ll ever make for yourself at home!
Ingredients
- 500 Grams minced turkey
- 500 Grams minced pork
- 3 tbsp of maple syrup
- 4 cloves of garlic(finely minced)
- 1 heaped tbsp of finely chopped fresh sage
- 1 tbsp of fresh thyme finely chopped
- large pinch of salt/black pepper
Method
- Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly
- Divide into 16 small (golf ball-sized) portions or 6 larger (tennis ball-sized to make big burgers) portions (tip: keep a bowl of cold water for dipping your hands in as it stops the mixture from sticking).
- Cook on medium heat on the gas BBQ for approx. 6 minutes until cooked through (for smaller burger sizes) or 10-12 minutes for larger burgers.
- Serve on a toasted brioche bun with tomato relish and scrambled eggs.
Although there are many really good, ready-made hamburgers available out there for the bbq, I still think nothing beats a homemade hamburger when grilling.
When it comes to this recipe, it’s the flavour that really stands out, and judging by the comments we’ve received from friends and family overtime, this is one never disappoints.
